Joining #AmIRC Undernet is Easy!

But First, Let's discuss what #AmIRC is all about.

#AmIRC Undernet is a place where you can go on the Internet, to meet other people who have the same or similar interests as you. You can often get help with problems, installing software, getting the latest news on what is happening with the Amiga Computer. And just having a great time chatting. The friendship that occurs in #AmIRC is very symbolic of how Amiga users are, we tend to be a friendly lot, always ready to jump in and help a fellow Amiga user.

So, Stop on in and see what it's all about! You won't regret it.

What software you need.

First you will need an IRC Chat client, The #1 Amiga chat client is Vapor's AmIRC. It is a feature packed IRC client that is both simple to setup and easy to use.

You can download a demo of AmIRC at www.vapor.com

You will also Need MUI, which is available from the AmiNet Archives.

To do Sounds in AmIRC you need an archive called DoSound
usually found in .LHA format and available on Aminet.

Follow the directions in Dosound for installation, and if you still have
problems, feel free to stop in and ask for help.

Finding an Undernet Server to get on

 
The AmIRC program contains a number of IRC Chat servers, to get to #AmIRC undernet pick an Undernet Server from the list.
Preferably one that is close to you, but if not, just any of them will usually do. They usually default at port 6667, but often 6667 is busy,
You may also try ports 6661, 6663, 6665, 6669 and hopefully one of those will let you in!


Once onto the Undernet, just type /join #amirc and you will find us!
